Paletti screw driven slide actuators provide Guided Motion in a single unit and are ideally suited for your material handling and positioning tasks. Additionally, our screw actuators are easy to incorporate into single or multi axis applications and offer long service life with minimal noise and maintenance.

Paletti’s screw driven linear axis systems are ideally suited for applications with high load forces that require high repeatability and accuracy. Paletti screw actuators are driven either with ball or trapezoid screws.

Depending on the model for a given application, the actuators will be configured with an internal and/or external carriage to the rail.

Typical thread-forms for the Ball and Trapezoid Screws used in Paletti screw driven actuators

All Paletti screw actuators are provided with the classic fixed (double bearing) – float (single bearing) screw supports shown above, custom bearing support needs can also be accommodated.

Paletti offers both the ball and trapezoid screw options shown above within our actuators. Common to the industry; we refer to thread forms for our screws by screw diameter x and then thread pitch (for example 20mm x 5mm).

Ball and Trapezoid Screw Actuator Options, Advantages, and Disadvantages:

  • 20mm x 20mm ball screw slide actuators – are highly efficient, capable of high speeds, and can offer long life spans and high duty cycles. However, the torque requirements for these models can be high.
  • 20mm x 5mm ball screw slide actuators – are highly efficient, operate at moderate and easy to control speeds, and can offer long life spans and high duty cycles. The torque requirements are typically low.
  • 20mm x 4mm trapezoid screw slide actuators – operate at moderate and easy to control speeds. Offer precise motion. Low torque requirements. The shallow pitch screw thread allows for eliminating the need for a motorized brake in some applications.

Some additional product advantages with Paletti screw driven slide actuators:

Please Note – the numbers in these dimensional drawings and tables represent performance parameters for our standardized model. We can always customize a model more specifically to your application. In addition to the information provided here, please also see our information under the Engineering Support tab, or in the online resources at the bottom of this page.

Additionally – the Max Speed ratings shown below are for applications with 1 meter stroke applications or less, please contact our engineering group to confirm critical rotational speeds at longer lengths. The specifications shown in our tables represent the actuators’ capabilities. Final actuator performance will always vary pending motor and gearing selection.

The standard lead error for our ball screws is +/- 52um/300mm. The standard lead error for our trapezoid screws is +/- 75um/300mm.

Since our actuators, aluminum framing, and conveyors all use the same 8mm T-Slot, it was very easy for us to complete the rest of the system structure, add the conveyor for the initial transport, and then add perimeter frame guarding around the entire system.

Common accessories – Fastening Hardware:

The Paletti hardware has been custom engineered specifically for our products, and is quick and simple to use. Our central fasteners are an excellent choice for most corner assembly needs. Our T-Nuts are commonly used in some corner assembly or other assembly needs. Particularly, the push-in T-Nuts are very useful and also offer the benefit of being installed and positioned after the rest of the assembly has been completed and with the option for mounting the assembly to other surfaces.
