Linear Actuators - Pusher Configuration

Single Axis, High Speed Actuators, 177 – 1062 In-Lbs. Torque Capabilities

Pusher actuator example image

This is a good example of how pusher style actuators are commonly used. In this application the physical load structure should be completely supported by our linear guides with the pusher actuator located between the two guides. The actuator can be connected to the load with a simple attachment from the actuators’ top plate. Often times pusher actuators are used in applications with space restrictions which prevent a typical actuator option from being used.

As mentioned above, classic linear motion applications have a physical load structure supported with linear guides and driven with either a screw system or cylinder. However, with both of those options there can be spatial concerns, performance issues, or cost considerations. The Paletti pusher style actuator can be a very attractive alternative where those issues with other actuator / drive systems types present themselves.

Consider these product advantages with Paletti pusher style actuators:

  • Capable of high speeds
  • Can be mounted and used in any orientation
  • Can be mounted and used in dimensionally restricted spaces
  • Economically viable options versus traditional actuators
  • Are available in special long lengths
  • Bottom rails come with 8mm T-Slot mounting functionality
  • Corrosion resistant component options

Please Note – the numbers in the dimensional drawings and specification tables below represent performance parameters for our standardized models. We can always customize a model more specifically to your application. In addition to the information provided here, please also see additional technical information under the Engineering Support tab, or in the online resources at the bottom of this page. Also, please note there are no coordinates provided with these drawings because the pusher actuators are not designed to support a load.

Since our linear guides, actuators, aluminum framing, and conveyors all use the same 8mm T-Slot, it was very easy for us to complete the rest of the system structure, add the conveyor for the initial transport, and then add perimeter frame guarding around the entire system.

We invite you to review the attached pdf’s and online resource links below; the framing profile links contain tabs for our online 3D modeling and stress calculation tools, or please contact us for help anytime.

Common accessories – Fastening Hardware:

The Paletti hardware has been custom engineered specifically for our products, and is quick and simple to use. Our central fasteners are an excellent choice for most corner assembly needs. Our T-Nuts are commonly used in some corner assembly or other assembly needs. Particularly, the push-in T-Nuts are very useful and also offer the benefit of being installed and positioned after the rest of the assembly has been completed and with the option for mounting the assembly to other surfaces.
